Overview
Each booking intent carries a source value displayed as a badge: Platform (WellBooked marketplace experience), Manual (entered by staff via Add Booking), Website (your hosted booking or web funnel when applicable), and External (for example the booking widget or other external entry points). Manual and external flows often store guest name and phone on a non-registered guest record, while platform and website flows may tie to a signed-in customer profile when one exists. Seeing the mix of sources helps you interpret demand and train staff on which channels need follow-up.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Open any reservation
From Reservations, Availability, or Floor View, open the detail panel.
Read the source badge
It sits with the status badge near the top of the detail view and in list rows.
Compare channels for the day
Scan the Reservations table Source column for the filtered date to see channel mix.
Expect different guest fields
Manual entries rely on what staff typed; platform users may expose email and richer history when the account exists.
Connect to analytics
Use booking analytics under Analytics when you need charts beyond the daily list.
Tips & Best Practices
Audit External after marketing pushes
Campaigns that link to the hosted widget should show a bump in External source rows.
Keep manual data clean
Typos in phone numbers break callback workflows.
Platform vs Website
Both are digital but reflect different guest paths; use the distinction when debugging marketing attribution.
Train hosts to notice source
External guests may need different reassurance than app power users.
